This is a must read for every one who would like to strengthen their relationship with God

I am a Spiritual Director in training. This book is extremely useful. I would recommend it to any one who was trying to deepen their prayer life. It is also an excellent resource for personal growth. The exercises are extremely useful for self knowledge and can be extremely helpful to directees. I believe that directors would also find this book useful, however, I think it is a must have for anyone wishing to know themselves better and a must have on any spiritual journey.

Some good, some not so good

As a primer on spiritual direction, it's not bad. If you have any experience in direction this book is not for you. If you are interested in direction, it may not be a bad source to begin one's reading. It has many of the basics covered. It will serve as a good place to lead you to do a Google search for more information. On the down side, the Kindle organization is just plain bad. Also, there are a few occasions when the brevity of the text makes it hard to understand the author's point. For instance, if you are not familiar with self psychology you will likely not understand his discussion of the false self. Three stars because there is value here for the (very) beginner.
