About the Author

Ann Hergatt Huffman is Associate Professor of Psychology and Management at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Huffman received her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2004. Prior to Texas A&M University, she worked as a principal investigator with the Walter Reed Army Research Institute-Europe. She was awarded the 2009 Northern Arizona University Most Promising New Scholar Award and was selected as a 2007–2008 Sloan Early Career Work-Family Scholar.

Stephanie R. Klein is the Solution Specialist at SHL in Minneapolis, where she has held a variety of roles including change management, product development, assessment and training program development, and client solutions consulting. Most recently, she led post-merger transformational change within the UK and Ireland sales organization. Her areas of professional expertise include transformational change and the ability to balance client logistics, scientific best practices, and technology capabilities to identify solutions to client business needs. Dr. Klein received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University in 1998 and 2006, respectively, following her B.A. in Psychology from Kenyon College.

This was given to my 20 year old daughter by our financial advisor. I read it and decided to get the one for my age (50+). The advice is very sound. The writing is clear with a bit of humor. The budgeting section and credit card sections are the ones that got me thinking that I'd buy the book for me even though there will be some repetition.

I bought this for my daughter and read through it, marking sections I want her to zero in on. It is rather elementary for an older person but I feel it is spot on for a young adult. She will thank me later for this gift, even though she isn't overly eager to read it right now at 18.

About the Author

Born in Coventry, once the heart of the British motor industry, Brian Long is a professional writer with a passion for vintage and sporting machinery. A trained mechanical engineer and a long-term owner of both the MX-5 and rotary Mazdas, he has had a strong connection with Mazda products for well over a decade.

Married to Miho, and with two children (Louis and Sophie-Mercedes), Brian now lives just outside Tokyo, and spends much of his free time with Thoroughbred horses. He has had over 60 books published, including many works on Japanese marques.

Takao Kijima is the Mazda Miata's Chief Engineer in Japan.

Sadly nothing new - Reprint of earlier Brian Long Miata books (which are great...)

Inside page states that this was originally published as 'Mazda Miata: Renaissance Sportscar' in 1998 and later as 'Mazda MX-5 Miata - The book of the world's favourite sportscar'. Doing a quick spot check between the books, they share the same headers, content and photos. I noticed that a few things have been slightly updated, moved around. A little disappointing that they are giving this a new cover and title...no wonder there is no option to 'Look inside'.

This version removes the NB (99-05) and NC (06+) content to deliver only the NA (89-97) material. As of August 2015 Renaissance Sportscar can be found for a reasonable price, the second book has shot up a bit. Having both, I recommend "The book of the world's favourite sportscar" - it covers all of the NA and NB development and lifecycle, as well as the development of the NC.

This new book has an excellent cover shot showing a stunning Classic Red with the barn doors up (it sucked me right in...), but Renaissance Sportscar gives you more content for less cash.

To my professional graphics eye, the print and photo quality of this version is not as good as my copy of Renaissance Sportscar. The photos in the new book have much more contrast, and seem to be a lower quality - even though the are the same images in both books. (Maybe someone misplaced the Zip disk from 1998 that had the high-res images...)

By now you may have figured out I am passionate about the Miata...these little cars are contagious. So, I should have known that there can't be too much more to dig up on this topic. Shame on me.

Now that I have slammed the book for being a reprint...I can tell you that the content is excellent. I have grabbed Renaissance Sportscar to flip through more times than I can count. If I did not already own the earlier versions this would be taking up a spot on the Miata bookshelf.

If you want a beautiful set of books on the first generation Miata, track down the boxed set "Miata: Mazda Mx-5 Hardcover" by Jack K. Yamaguchi and Photographer Haru Tajima. Released the same time as the first cars, this is some of the best in print on the early Miatas. The content is excellent, and yes, some of the photos are the same as the Long books. But the second book is basically a coffee table picture book filled with amazing shots of the very first NA's. This is pre-interweb publishing, folks...you just can't get away with that type of indulgence today!

Actionable Trading Guidebook

I highly recommended this book for two reasons. First, the setups described are very detailed and offer precise instructions for the setup itself, information on how the setup works, when to trade the setup, trade management, numerous color charts of setup examples, and more. The second reason is the terrific summary at the end of the book which provides recommendations for using certain setups based on the current market type: uptrend, downtrend, range, and market bottoming. A basic technical indicator-moving averages-is used to identify the current market type as applied to four ETF index tickers. While you will read about setups not working in all markets, this book offers specific guidance for when to consider using or not using a setup.

Overall, a clearly written book providing actionable information for traders of all types and experience levels.

Great jump start into learning different setups!

Very straight forward book that gets to the point using clear explanations on how to scan for stocks, enter the trade, and manage/exit the trade. Each chapter is basically setup in a structure that tells you:
- when to buy, place a stop, and exit a trade
- scan criteria (which you can use finiviz for)
- context on why this setup works (theory)
- screens of numerous examples on that setup

I read this after learning about technical analysis and it is a perfect compliment to take what I learned and start applying it using these setups. Its not necessary to know technical analysis but more tools the better so when you are tracking day to day you can get a better sense on the position.

Simply incredible. I came accross this text some two years ago and had the hard copy shipped to Jamaica. Someone else must have thought it was great too and so they stole it. I was preparing for a new sales managemet role and needed some insight. I bought tge book for the second time but this time the Kindle version. I find to text to be extremely thorough yet practical. The principles can be applied to every possible salesforce regardless of product offerings. One of the best investments I have ever made.

It is a pretty good book

It is a pretty good book, but KINDLE (or whoever is in charge of this) PLEASE PUT ACTUALLY PAGE NUMBERS. I seriously had assignments that were a lot harder just because the teacher listed page numbers. What do I see instead of page numbers? 1243325423 of 12342343245646 (WTF).

Now for the positive, it was cheap for the amount of time that I used it, and I did recommend to my friends who also saved money because of this.

Great product, thanks for uploading it to Kindle.

The truth is worse than she could have feared: the groom, Hari, is a sickly child, and his parents have wanted only a dowry, not a wife for him, in order to pay for a trip to Benares so Hari might bathe in the holy waters of the Ganges. Koly is widowed almost immediately; later, she is abandoned in the holy city of Vrindavan by her cruel mother-in-law. Grade 5-8-Thirteen-year-old Koly's arranged marriage seems a blessing for her impoverished family. Her mother embroiders a wedding sari, while the girl stitches her family memories into a quilt. But when she arrives at the home where, according to custom, she will live for the rest of her life under the supervision of her mother-in-law, she discovers that her 16-year-old husband Hari is gravely ill with tuberculosis. She learns that her dowry was needed to finance a journey to Benares, with the hope that the holy water of the Ganges River will cure him. Hari dies there and she is trapped, a widow with no future. Luckily, her father-in-law recognizes her desire to learn and teaches her to read. A few years later, when he, too, dies, her mother-in-law abandons her in another holy city, Vrindavan. Raji, a young rickshaw driver, helps Koly find a place to live and keeps track of her progress. Eventually, she finds work embroidering saris. Raji has a plan, and a dream. He wants to make enough money to buy seed and tools and return to his village, with Koly as his wife. In a happy ending that suggests that established custom can be challenged in positive ways, she agrees. Whelan has enhanced a simple but satisfying story with loving detail about traditional Indian life, the harsh reality of feudal customs that persist today, and the complexity of cultural change. Readers with a curiosity about other worlds and other ways will find Koly's story fascinating.

Lovely Book

I really enjoyed this book. The story was simple and interesting. I think it is best for ages 10-14.
It's really nice to see a book set in India, and especially a book with this level of realism. I was able to "see" the India that I have experienced, its good and its bad. India is much more "intense" than the reader may experience, but I think the detail level is just perfect for this audience.
The cover design is simply beautiful!
That said, several of the other reviews give away too much of the plot, so read carefully...
